What you can do RIGHT NOW for Belltown.

Updated: Feb 9, 2019

In the next few days, we'll be announcing an Emergency BOAT Meeting, here in Belltown, where we'll be talking about short term solutions (e.g. Landmarking Tula's) and also long term solutions (e.g. 2019 is a major election year).

*Please stay tuned for that announcement.

In the meantime, I keep hearing from #HumansOfBelltown who want to TAKE ACTION NOW and are ready to help. In that spirit, below are some phone numbers you can call. If you want to be especially helpful, there is also some context for what to highlight if you call City Council.

1. You can call current Council rep for Belltown's district (Sally Bagshaw, D7) at 206-684-8801 and encourage her to respond to our open letter, which we sent on January 31st.
2. You can call and thank our city-wide rep Teresa Mosqueda, for coming and speaking at the Rise Up Belltown kick-off event this past summer, and for continuing to engage with Belltown humans. Her number is 206-684-8806.

In both cases, please remember that the phones will be answered by staff people who are just doing their jobs, so we encourage you to treat them the way you might treat your favorite bartender, or favorite chef, when they're working and just doing their jobs. It will go along way toward getting our point across and being listened to. :)

You can follow @RiseUpBelltown on Instagram for daily updates, or sign-up for our weekly email updates, and you can follow us here on this blog. If you would like to help shape these policies and and strategies, we would welcome your support! Get on the BOAT, and join the Policy Advisory Team. We'd love to have you. :)
