It's Thursday in Belltown (8.30.18)

Updated: Mar 8, 2019

hi friends!

It's Thursday in Belltown, and this is the second installment of our community update that I'm calling "It's Thursday in Belltown." My name is Evan, and I'll be your host on this journey of Thursdays. It's just a short update this week, but if you have questions please let me know! :)

What's in this update:

  1. Belltown Block Party 2018 a Success!

  2. Update on #FindSamSayers

  3. Save-the-Date: Rise Up CREW Meeting Livestream!

Toecutter shredding at Belltown Block Party 2018 with a full block in front of them!

In case you missed it -- this year's block party from Under The Needle, along with the crew from Jupiter and Cursed Oak, was a rowdy and raucous success! Over a thousand people came through the event, with live music, live painting, beer gardens, skateboarding, and even an artisan market!

Check out pics from the skateboarding jumps here!

Sam's fiancé Kevin recently posted an update and a new press release, including news that "The Jon Francis Foundation, a Minnesota nonprofit with extensive missing person expertise, is stepping in to help provide experienced and certified search management to the mission of finding Sam."

You can follow this FB page with 28,000+ followers, and/or visit the website for more information. Sam and Kevin's families are asking for any and all help with keeping the story in the news media.

As I mentioned in our last update, it's critical that we have a planning meeting to build our strength as community, and set the course forward.

So a big thank you to Jupiter Bar for agreeing to host a meeting on Tuesday, September 18th!  The meeting is open to the community, but space is limited so RSVPs will be required. Fortunately, you don't have have to be there in person to participate!

I'll have more detail in our next update, and in the meantime you can join the event on faceland!

If you were a sponsor, volunteer, performer, or pop-up participant at Rise Up 2018, you can expect to hear from me personally next week after Labor Day. If you weren't, but are interested in attending, please contact me directly and we'd love to have you! :)

that's a wrap, friends! please let me know, if there's things you think should be included in next week's Thursday in Belltown. all suggestions are welcome!
