Q1. Why are you in #Belltown?
A. I got here years ago knowing nothing about Seattle. In my first four hours off the plane, I walked into the old Whisky Bar, and saw a friend from the punk rock scene in Austin. He asked what I was doing here. I said I didn't know, and he said "you wanna job?" I stayed because I needed work, but I also needed a purpose. Belltown gave me that home. It's the heart of Seattle.
Q2. Favorite thing about Belltown?
A. Whatever I need on a given day, Belltown offers all of it. It's all in one spot. I live here, I work here. I've got my kitchen, my living room. This neighborhood is basically my house. And the diversity. That's what it is. Everyone's free to be themselves - find themselves. Seattle's giving everyone a reason to be here, but Belltown gives people a reason to stay.
Q3. What's your message for the Mayor and Council about Belltown?
A. In one of the episodes of Breaking Bad, they were gonna try to kill the bald guy, but he turned around and said "YOU NEED ME". The guy had a gun to his head, but then he realized the bald guy was right, and lowered his weapon. Later in the series they actually became friends...
